SIZE & FIT

For custom sizing, please share your dimensions in the ‘order note’ section on Add to Cart / Checkout page. We will directly email you if we haven not received a note from you.

CARE

We believe in preserving the craftsmanship and quality of each piece. Wash only when truly necessary. In many cases, spot cleaning or simply airing the garment is enough. Proper ironing helps realign the fibers and improve their durability and structure. Caring for your garment with attention will ensure a long lifespan.

Please follow these recommendations:

– Hand wash only
– Do not bleach
– Do not tumble dry

SHIPMENT TIME (DIFFERS BY BRAND)

Once an order is placed, the textile is washed and then hand-painted with colour, dried under the sun. It is then carefully pressed with a charcoal iron, hemmed and folded.

This process takes anywhere between 2 weeks to complete as it is sensitive to seasonal and environmental factors.

If you would like a piece by a specific date, please email us at hello@avte-bardo.com so we can accommodate your needs.

Store exchanges are accepted unless the piece is custom made to order.

EVERY PIECE IS UNIQUE

The images above are references; patterns, tone, and texture will vary due to the limitations of antiques. No two pieces are ever the same.

INTRICATE HANDWORK

Antique textiles made from women of past generations are carefully hand-constructed into modern silhouettes, while preserving the delicary & character of the original materials.

A CULTURAL HOMAGE

The designers source antiques from Argentina & Europe from the 18th & 20th century, preserving the intricate craft that has long been forgotten.

This project began with our deep fascination with the antique textiles that adorned our grandparents' homes in Argentina - embroidered tablecloths and hand-crocheted doilies.

These beautifully crafted pieces are now often stored away, their stories hidden from view. We want to honor the intricate handwork mastered by women from previous generations.

A combination of antiques are featured in each piece: European & Argentinian textiles from the 18th to the 20th century, alongside Ñandutí, a magnificent traditional lace embroidery made by Guarani women in Paraguay.

The creation is always a collaborative effort: female artisans hand-crochet the final, delicate details, while our experienced tailors in small studios in Barcelona & Buenos Aires bring the designs to life.

Countless hours of intricate handwork are dedicated to every piece, and we always allow the materials and their unique history to guide our design. Due to the materials' inherent limitations & rarity, each piece is truly one of a kind.
