Surmeyi’s story was born from the search for belonging. When Manasvi moved from India to the U.S, her comfort in a foreign place was in adorning herself with her jewelry. Those pieces became anchors - reminders of home, identify and self. That feeling now shapes everything she creates with her team.
Every piece starts with a story from childhood, or a specific feeling of home. From there, a constellation of motifs that represent the emotional story inspire the final design. This is the sketch of how the ‘Mango Jhumka’ earrings came to be.
A glimpse into all the handwork that went into our collection launch. We collaborate with around 10-12 karigars in Jaipur and 2 of the workshops are led by women. They oversee production design, quality and the general well-being of the karigars.
"Karigar" (कारीगर) is a Hindi word that translates to craftsman or artisan. Many of our karigars have learned their craft from fathers, uncles, and grandfathers. These aren’t just techniques; they’re inheritances.
We’re a community of romantics who love the natural beauty of brass and sterling silver, so we've chosen to steer away from plating our jewelry with gold.
The world pushes for more, faster, cheaper—but we choose care. Care for the karigars who needs time for family. Care in the customer who connects with the story. For us, sustainability is care—for the people, the process, and the environment.
