COLLECTION ORIGIN

[Words from founder, Stephanie] I first met Flor in 2018 when I traveled to Oaxaca, in her traditional Oaxacan restaurant. Little did I know that our relationship would blossom into co-creating a woven shoe brand years later.

Flor is the heart of this project. She's from a town in the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve, a region where thousands of palm trees grow. The Mixtec people have long been stewards of this land, using its natural resources with deep respect.

The original spark for these shoes came from my admiration for woven palm designs, which traditionally served functional purposes (rugs, baskets for food storage etc). I remember thinking: if we could translate these patterns into leather, we could make beautifully crafted shoes.

And that’s exactly what we’ve set out to do — honoring tradition while creating something new. We’re building on what’s already there: knowledge passed down through families, especially by grandmothers, and adapting it to something that can reach more people.

We work with both palm and leather — two very different materials that require different techniques but share a deep connection to craft. For our leather shoes, we use vegetable-tanned leather from Gold Rated tanneries certified by LWG, ensuring responsible environmental practices and high quality standards.
